"UN-AMERICAN" Right? CJR- Massing

Columbia Journalism Review essay by Michael Massing casts a long term eye at the right-wing assaults on Obama's character. In light of recent and continuing developments, the NY "POST" cartoon for one (reference our discussion of the right-wing visual syllogism,) Massing paints a pretty clear picture of the propanda that has been spewing forth.

WE CAN SING TOGETHER

Different modes of communication have different traditions. Yet the basics of communication are the same. Signs and Symbols arrange with the principles of art to tell a story and convey information. The best practices of our various traditions have come together, in a modern day, in new media. While traditional media struggles to understand a changing financial landscape, online ad revenues are growing.

COMMUNICATION CROSSROADS is an experiment in the use of new media in the Howard University Journalism Department. This is an opportunity for us to combine our disparate outputs in a single document, to project our student work to the world.
